The Story Behind The Name
Alan "Pokie" Adkins · Owner
Pokie's Ready Mix opened in 2019 with a simple idea: Franklin Parish deserved a concrete supplier that answers the phone, quotes it straight, and delivers when it says it will. Word got around fast — folks liked working with a local outfit that treats a barn pad the same as a bank foundation.
Today that's grown into three batch plants — Winnsboro, Bee Bayou and West Monroe — with 36 mixers and 15 haul trucks serving ready-mix from Ruston to Oak Grove to Olla. Same idea, more trucks: quality mud, honest service, delivered on time. As one neighbor put it — Pokie's is "the best mud around."
